Louie Is Going To Be a Daddy!

One Direction member, Louis Tomlinson and ex-girlfriend, a stylist, Briana Jungwirth are expecting a baby. Even though they aren't a couple anymore, they're still friends and are both very excited. Any other normal person would be saying, "Congrats, that's great" but I've noticed that the media, even some Directioners are being negative and freaking out. Come on now! It's a baby!! People are supposed to celebrate about having children. Sure, it was unplanned and Louie and Briana are young but they are both adults. We should respect their privacy and just be happy for them.

Congrats Louie and Briana!!!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope that everyone had a fun 4th of July. I had a blast with my family. Even though I'm not a fan of the loud fireworks, I do know that it's a celebration of independence for this awesome country, to remember those who helped make this country a free one. Before the Declaration of Independence was even signed, John Adams envisioned fireworks as a part of the festivities. He wrote in a letter to his wife on July 3rd, 1776,

"I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more."

"Black Magic" (a Little Mix song/video)

I love the video above. Watch it and you'll see why. :)

Question time! If you could have powers, what would they be?

I would fly obviously and have telekinesis abilities (move things with my mind). I also would want to wield a magic wand. Wands are cool!

"SlenderMan" Stabbing Case Update

One of two Wisconsin girls accused of stabbing their friend so they could meet the fictional character "Slender Man" simply shrugged today before a judge ruled that she was incompetent to stand trial.
Morgan Geyser had been found not competent by two prior evaluations and today was found incompetent to stand trial by a judge. Geyser and Anissa Weier, both 12, are charged with first degree attempted murder after prosecutors said they lured their friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times.

Geyser was seen fidgeting in her seat and playing with her hair during the hearing, even pulling a blond strand directly in front of her face at one point. She smiled while watching Weier being led out of the room.

Two mental health professionals gave testimony in the Waukesha County Courthouse today, speaking about their evaluations of Geyser before Judge Michael Bohren ruled that she is unfit to stand trial.
Dr. Brooke Lundbohm, who evaluated Geyser on June 18, 2014, said that Geyser's unusual behavior- including what she said was nonsensical rambling and inappropriate, near-hysterical laughter - contributed to her decision that Geyser is incompetent.
Lundbohm said that Geyser spoke with her at length about fictional characters she believes in including unicorns, Slender Man, and Harry Potter villain Voldemort, who Geyser reportedly called "Voldy." She added that Geyser claims that she has Vulcan Mind Control.

I'm not trying to sensationalize this case in any way. What these two girls did is horrific, unthinkable. I just wanted to state the latest facts and say that I support the survivor, Payton. I agree that she is a brave, strong girl.

I also want to say that even though I'm a CreepyPasta fanatic, I do not believe in Slender Man or believe that this kind of real violence is cool. He's fictional. Murder in real life is scary and taking someone's life or attempting to take someone's life is wrong.

If you do somehow believe in him, why would you kill for something so evil?

Also, if you're having mental issues, tell someone. Don't keep it a secret.

Wonderland Camp, June 2015

Last week, I had a blast at Wonderland Camp! I saw some of my old friends including Kortney, Jeff, Jay, Dustin, Jason, Cookie, Ann, Cynthia, Sherry (Cynthia’s mom), and Chris. I also made new friends including Kaley “Moosy”, Libby, Julie, Tucker, Gabby, Emma, Quita, Autumn, Justen, and Shelia. I was in the JCA cabin. On Sunday evening, we had a campfire. With happy singing in the background, Kortney, Libby, and I walked around camp and socialized with everyone. Then, we had delicious, gooey s’mores. It was a nice evening.

On Monday, we had Arts and Crafts then Nature. In Crafts, we tie-dyed our shirts. My shirt was dark purple and red, very cool colors. In Nature, we shot bow and arrows. It was cool. They had a special, customized compound bow for people who can’t use their hands very well.

Then that  afternoon, we had a hayride down to the water front and rode the boat.  I didn’t sleep this time. I enjoyed the water and wind on my face. We were being silly and pointing out the biggest lake houses as we passed by. In the evening, I just hung out outside and talked with friends.

On Tuesday morning, We had time at the splash pad/pool. I was obsessed with the splash pad this year. I loved getting splashed, soaked, and being surrounded by water. They put me in a shower chair and ran with me through the water. Libby said that I looked like a water nymph when I was under the water and since I’m into fairies and things, that made me laugh. In the afternoon, we had Rec. We were playing bowling, using soda bottles and a kickball. I decided to be a smart aleck and knocked over the bottles with my wheelchair. Everyone laughed.

Then I got to try the new mini zip-line. It was so awesome! It had seat for me to sit in and it felt like I was flying, my stomach doing flip-flops. I was laughing and screaming the whole time. In Nature, we then made lays out of flowers and made Moon Sand (it’s like rough feeling Play-Doh). Then that evening, we did fun obstacle courses and played games. It was a great day.

On Wednesday morning, we had splash pad/pool time. In the afternoon, we had Nature and shot arrows again. Then for Crafts, we made necklaces and colored.  For the rest of the afternoon, we practiced for the talent show.  The talent show was that evening and everyone was excited. For the show, I sang “Oops…I Did it Again” by Britney Spears, with Kortney and Autumn, while the other girls in our cabin danced behind  us. Then,  I sang “That's My Kind of a Party” by Luke Bryan, with Jeff. It was cute. The talent show was fun with so much good music and funny moments.

On Thursday morning, a group of actors from a local college came and put on a play for us. The play was about a boy who rescues a dragon from the animals on a magical island. It was adorable. It sort of reminded me of Peter Pan. In the afternoon,  we went to the splash pad/pool. I skipped Nature because I was having so much fun in the water. Later, we had Beauty Shop to get ready for the dance.

Later on, that evening, the dance began. I wore purple eye shadow, repainted my nails black, spiked my hair up, and wore a black and white dress. Music was booming and the spinning lights surrounded me in the crowded hall. I danced, sang, and laughed with all of my friends. I even got out of my chair twice to slow dance. I love dance night!

On Friday, everybody was getting ready to go home. People were signing shirts and exchanging addresses. Friday is always bittersweet. A part of me is ready to go home but another wants to stay with my friends. Camp has changed a lot since last year but it still feels like a secondary home to me. Last week was an adventure. I can’t wait until I go back!

P.S. This song was playing when we arrived and left camp. It's special for the girls in JCA.

the Secret of Sara Taylor

the Secret of Sara Taylor

I was taught to be an obedient child of God but I, Mary Taylor, fourteen years of age, was living the biggest deceit. We lived in rural Salem Village, surrounded by unkind wilderness and endless rivers and ‘twas Spring 1691. I was supposed to act like I was the only child when I had a younger sister named Sara, twelve years of age, hidden away.

My mother and father had told me that she was possessed by a malevolent spirit that made her babble nonsense, see things that weren’t there, scream or burst into uncontrollable laughter, and have violent fits but instead of going to the church for help, where she surely would be killed, they kept her a secret and told the church that she died from a severe fever the year before, while they privately prayed for her soul. Even though I secretly thought that her condition wasn’t caused by evil but by a bump on the head, I never said such things aloud for people would think of me as mad or ill-mattered.

The only one outside of the family that knew about Sara was our mean-spirited neighbor,  Mr. Thomson, whom my father worked for as a harvester in his small corn field. He had seen Sara by accident by the window and he said that as long as my father kept growing and picking beautiful, delicious ears of corn for him, he would keep our secret but if not, he would tell Reverend Samuel Parris about our unholy ways. Even though the soil was rocky and poor, my father always managed to grow perfect corn. Our horrible secret remained kept and ’twas peaceful until 1692.

The cold winter had not been kind. Many people had died from fever and exposure. Crops also suffered and Mr. Thomson’s corn field was frosted. When Spring finally arrived, the field was dead. My father could only pick four ears of corn that were not prey to the harsh winter and the damage to the field couldn’t be undone. All that we could do was pray that Mr. Thomson did not act upon his threat.

On June 1692, we had a great deal of anxiety on our minds. Many women, including Margaret Jones, a kind midwife and the reverend’s own colored slave named Tituba were arrested, being accused of witchcraft. We knew if the church ever knew about Sara, she would be in danger. One day, Sara was in the corner, speaking to herself with her eyes fixed on a piece of thread that she was holding and Mother and I were sewing a dress for her, while Father was outside working, when Reverend Parris,  the deputy governor Thomas Dudley, and Mr. Thomson burst in. Father came quickly in after them.

“Good morrow Gentlemen,” said Father, trying to smile, “What is this unorthodox visit about?”

“About your youngest daughter Sara,” said Mr. Thomson with pleasure and disdain, pointing at her, “She’s a witch! She poisoned my corn field.”

“Neither of my daughters would do such a thing,” exclaimed my father, “The winter was just bitter and killed the crops!”

“I saw the witch during the winter conjuring in my field,” Mr. Thomson lied.

Then, the reverend stepped forward. Dressed in a black robe, he was a tall man with brown hair and eyes, and a pointed nose that made it look like he was always looking down upon you, smelling the stench of sin on you.

“Thou has lied about a child’s death,” said Reverend, “and thy house is full of sin and evil alliances!”

“You misunderstand,” said Father desperately, “Maybe a witch is afflicting her…please…help.” They ignored his pleas.

“Sara Taylor and the rest of your family are declared as under arrest for witchcraft,” said the deputy governor, presenting Father with a condemning scroll. Before I knew it, we were being dragged out of our home and Sara was madly screaming, kicking, biting, and spitting the entire time. Our neighbors just watched with fear and disgust.

I couldn't let this happen. In a quick moment, I turned my back on the puritan ways and a spirit of courage took over me. My family wasn't evil and my sister wasn't a witch. Her mind just differed from ours. I stomped on the deputy's foot and grabbing my sister by the hand, I ran with her. I wanted to save Mother and Father also but they said: “Go!” As we ran, I could hear the men chasing us and other angry villagers joining them, chanting: "Witches...witches...witches!”

We came to a bridge over Crane river. As judging eyes approached us,  I realized that there was no place for me or my sister on this plain. I was taught to be an obedient child of God but people used Him to control, to condemn. Thinking fast, I said: “Jump!” We both plummeted into the river and let ourselves painfully drown. No one stopped us because ‘twas said that witches would simply bob on the surface. They learned of our innocence too late.

My 2nd Family

My group of friends have been my secondary family throughout the years; (elementary school, junior high, high school, and now). They’re the people that know all of the sides of me, which they truly accept. They’re fun, dysfunctional, hilarious, loud, and perfectly imperfect. I love them.

CD Discs Not Obsolete, They're Fun

I have an ipod and an itunes account. I absolutely love the new technology for getting music. It's easy but I sometimes enjoy listening to an actual CD. Most music can be downloaded now but some music still can't be downloaded due to copyright laws. Sometimes it's just faster to buy the CD. Plus, I think that it's fun to listen to a whole CD of one of my favorite singers at times and it's also sort of a hobby of mine to collect CDs.

When I was younger, I got a lot of my CDs from Target but recently I've noticed that their music section is alphabetically out of order and their selection isn't so big anymore.
On Friday, I tried to find the latest Hollywood Undead CD and of course, they didn't have it. I downloaded Hollywood Undead's new songs on itunes but I still want the CD. People tell me that CDs are becoming obsolete and that's why the stores' selections are so crappy. I disagree. Stereos are still made with CD players.
Why would manufactures make a player for something that is obsolete? Huh? Riddle me that Batman! :-)
