the Ghoulish Man (Re-edited)

the Ghoulish Man
By: Lena Holdman

The Ghoulish Man wore a fiery red cloak of  rage. His beard was gray, knotted, and blood stained. His face is long and wrinkled and his dark eyes were reckless and lustful from lurking each night in search of his next victim. He used to be a normal man, a kind man but he felt unloved all of his life and finally died inside.A demon of hopelessness lied to him, corrupted him. He became a walking corpse that hungers for young female souls to fill the empty hole where his heart once was.

Each night, he found girls who were barely out of their adolescence. While they were innocently sleeping, he at first watched them with sick desire. After a few moments, he then proceeded to move his ice cold, bony hands up their spines and up their necks. The girls always woke up but before they can scream, he grabbed their throats with all of his might, choking them and crushing their vocal chords. Then, taking them in his arms, he draped his cloak around himself and the girl, as if it was a private curtain and sucked all of the essence from them, leaving their lifeless bodies behind.

One night, a courageous girl named Ariel Marie with a wild spirit and strawberry blonde hair, felt his cold hand and quickly woke up and grabbed it, twisting it. He howled in agony. She had heard the stories about the Ghoulish Man and swore to herself that she wouldn’t ever be his victim. He tried furiously to get her with his

other hand but she punched him in the face, making him fly across the room and black slime that was supposed to be his blood pour out of his mouth. Then, with him laying on the ground, she kicked him in the groin repeatedly.

With such venom in her voice, she said, “You have no power over me and never will! You’re just heartless, lonely, creepy ghoul! I’m not afraid of you, I feel sorry for you. You’re so pathetic, preying on young girls!”

Feeling helpless and defeated, the Ghoulish Man then disappeared into thin air, leaving behind his cloak. She had fought back. His power was completely gone. Ariel nor did any other girl ever saw him again.
