Mini Poems (I Decide, The Puppet)
Author Notes:
Hi y'all,
I needed to get some things off my chest so I wrote two poems. I was full of angst when I wrote these but don't fret. I'm completely fine. I was just venting. All of the negativity is out of my system since I wrote the poems. ⇩
I Decide
We're all about individuality and equality
but if we really told the truth,
we would say that we sometimes live in a cult mentality;
where people want others to have the same thoughts, same beliefs, same style, same likes and dislikes
so we can fit in the same, closed box.
But I refuse to be just another follower,
just another bandwagon passenger.
I decide who I adore and who I should ignore,
I decide what's right and what's wrong,
I decide what's reality and what's fiction.
The choice is mine alone;
not my friends,
or my family,
or some, rich celebrity.
I decide what person I want to be.

I sometimes feel like I'm just a helpless puppet,
being manipulated,
my whole body being restricted;
making me feel so damn humiliated!
I would scream but my speech becomes not understandable and unheard;
But then, with all of the power I have within,
the strings of "You can't" and "You should give up" get broken.
Freed, I dash away confidently,
flipping off the puppet master:
Cerebral Palsy,
shouting: "You won't ever keep control over me!"

I hope that you enjoyed the poems.
