A News Story That Breaks My Heart...

I usually try to avoid watching the news because it's often depressing and much scarier than any horror story I could think of, but sometimes, when I hear something so heartwrenching, I want to know more: to search for a reason for it. My sister first texted this to my mom yesterday. I looked it up today.

On May 28, 2024, in Festus, Missouri, a thirty-six-year-old woman walked into the police station and admitted to fatally shooting her nine-year-old daughter, Scarlet, and drowning her two-year-old son, Isaac. The woman was thankfully charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count each of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. There is no motive reported yet.

Just why? This so-called mother is absolutely evil! If she was going through something mentally, (even though mental illness isn't an excuse for killing innocent children), why didn't she just drop Scarlet and Isaac off with their father or at the police station unharmed? People shouldn't ever wish for others to commit suicide, but I rather she left the kids somewhere safe and killed herself than hurt the kids. No child's life should be taken, especially by the woman who gave birth to them! They should've felt safe with their mom. They should've been playing outside without a care in the world. I don't know these children or the family, but I'm sad for them. Keep them and their families in your prayers.

Rest in peace, Scarlet and Isaac. You two never knew me, but I care. I'm truly sorry that the last thing you saw was your mommy hurting you. No one knows why she did this to you two sweethearts, but you're safe now in the Lord's loving embrace. Remember, you two were and are still loved. 💙👼

Sending prayers. 🙏 Smooches and think Tink!
