The 58th Grammy Awards were last night. I watched the whole show, which was amazing, but I won't write about all of it. I would be writing all day if I did so I'll write about my favorite parts.
Taylor Swift's performance of her song "Out of the Woods" was incredible. She looked and sounded fierce.
The Lionel Richie tribute was pretty cool. I was in complete awe of Demi Lovato's performance of "Hello".
I loved this version of Little Big Town's "Girl Crush" with the violins in the background. It was pretty.
Stevie's blind joke made me laugh and I agree, more things should be accessible to people with all disabilities.
I don't care what others are saying. I thought that the Hollywood Vampires' performance was awesome and I'm not just saying it because Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp were in it. Though, Johnny did look hot. ;)
Congrats to Taylor Swift for winning Album of the Year and giving the most magnificent acceptance speech of the night. It was empowering. I think that it was also a dig towards Kayne West, who recently wrote explicit lyrics about her, claiming that he made her famous. Go Taylor!
Most bloggers might be blogging about their best or worse Valentine's Day but not me. I think that it's the lamest, most commercial holiday ever invented and just gives couples an excuse to show off. However, I won't be cynical or bitter about it though (I've had completely accepted my singleness unlike most). Instead, I'll just write about my favorite late-night talk show host, James Corden, (who I wouldn't mind getting roses from, lol). I first saw him in the musical/movie, Into the Woods as the baker, which was adorable. Then, he became the host of the Late Late Show. My dad has been working late nights recently and James has become my source of entertainment at night. He's hilarious, witty, and sweet. He also can really sing, has a sexy British accent, (I'm a sucker for a British accent), and has the cutest laugh. I can't sleep during weeknights without watching him now. It's nice to watch a show that isn't all serious, just fun.
Good Girl Act I'm not sorry that I'm not perfect. I won't do the fake good girl act, forcing a camera-ready smile, being obedient. I'm not sorry that I'm not your angelic marionette, just dancing around mindlessly for your own amusement. I'm not submissive or stupid, This is me. Oh, you don't like the way I am? Well, watch me, Not giving a damn. Deal with it!

Because of low finances, the beloved children's show, Sesame Street has moved to HBO. The repeats will still be on PBS and the new episodes will still be available for PBS to broadcast after nine months but this doesn't seem right to me. A children's show is now on the same channel as some really adult shows. I'm not saying that Sesame Street will suddenly be an adult show just because it's on HBO. It's still for kids, still educational and fun, but the move seems extreme. Sesame Street belongs on PBS. PBS has a special place in my heart. I remember being a kid and loving all of the PBS shows, especially Sesame Street. Also, not all children have access to cable, or internet, or cell phones, etc. It's not fair to the kids that don't have those things. They have to wait for nine months for a new episode (even though most kids won't notice). If they want to reach all types of children, they should keep it on public television. The Demonic Princess Once upon a time, I was your lovely princess and you were my sweet prince, Always being embraced by your kindness. Our world was made of fairy-tale kisses, romantic promises, and happiness. One night, While you were away, playing games so droll, I was seduced by a clever evil. Sitting alone by the window, an alluring voice called out to me to come out and play. My curiosity got the best of me. I wandered out into the darkness of the woods; To where an angelic princess shouldn't be. Before I knew what happened, I woke up in Satan's bed, In his arms, being manipulated by his charms. It was all a trick, a mistake; But you caught me, acting disgracefully. I tried explaining, I tried pleading for forgiveness; But instead of understanding and giving me another chance, you passed quick judgement and smacked me across the face. Banning me from the comfort of the palace, you shouted: "I don't want you anymore, you disgusting adulteress!" You left me out in the cold because you thought that I was heartless, But how could you just give up on a love that yourself promised that would last?! Now, years had passed, being Satan's devoted mistress. Now, let's see who's really heartless, Once you see what I became; A demonic princess! Now, you can see my wicked grin, the butcher knife in my hand. You're begging, screaming, running. My innocence within me is now dead. My eyes that were once an exquisite brown are now a hellish red. My tiara that once looked so elegant and beautiful is now rusted and sits askew. I catch you and tie you to a chair, Then the carving of your chest starts. I stab, I slash open into your flesh. Blood gushes, Blood splatters everywhere. You shriek in agony and terror, and I can't hold back my hysterical laughter. Once your chest is completely open, I slip a hand in. Without a single thought, I rip out your still beating heart. While you're dying, you look so pathetic, so helpless. Still holding your heart, I gleefully say:"So tell me again," "Who's heartless?" You abandoned me, You hurt me, my prince, And with a final breath, a final heartbeat, you realize that you just paid the consequence. (c)Lena Holdman, all rights reserved 2016
She's not just a pretty, pretty princess anymore. Since evil took away her ability to fall in love, she's stronger and her heart will never be broken again!
Hi Steven, How are you? I'm good. Today is the day that you left this Earth but I focus on the happy memories of you. You always made everyone crack up. There was never a dull moment with you. Lunch time was one of my favorite times with you. You made up joke after joke, making days brighter. I also love riding the bus with you when you made up silly songs and games. Well, I just wanted to say hi. I love you. We all miss you Stevie Wevie. Love, Lena
R.I.P. David Bowie. He starred in one of my favorite movies, Labyrinth. Even as an adult, I still know all of his songs from that movie. He was so cool! He'll be missed.
Christmas Eve Children are outside, playing in the fluffy snow; While the tall tree inside is aglow. The house is alive with the aromas of sugar cookies and a low fire; With sounds of joyous conversation, laughter, and prayer. Is that St. Nick that I hear? For it's the eve of the birth of our Savior. (c)Lena Holdman, all rights reserved 2015 Merry Christmas!
Okay, this silly thought might be due to my doll phobia, lol. I realize that children love Elf on the Shelf (especially my niece and my little cousins). They think that it's magical but I think that it's creepy. The idea of an elf watching children, practically stalking them until Christmas to see to make sure that they're good, seems unsettling to me. The blue elf doll's eyes look ominous and evil too. This is just in my overactive imagination of course, but still, the doll is unnerving.
