Fly Away Princess (Song: Once Upon A Time By SHE)

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Miranda who had everything. She was extremely special since she was a baby. The fairies had blessed her with extraordinarily violet eyes, long and flowing black hair, and cherry colored lips. The witches and wizards had blessed her with the gift of song and flight. She could dance upon the stars like a wingless bird and beckon the dawn with her lovely voice. She also lived in a huge palace full of family and servants who adored her more than anything and would die for her. Even though she had it all, Miranda felt so empty inside.

Every time she would walk into the crowded banquet hall for a ball, she always had millions of suitors surround her. They would grovel at her feet, give her valuable offerings, lick their lips seductively, and promise her the world; anything to have her as a wife. She never believed those damn fools! They all were complete liars with monstrous lust in their eyes. She was just a prize to them.

One night, she and her family had a guest to dinner. His name was Prince David. When Miranda was younger, she fell in love with this prince (the only time that she let someone into her heart). He was handsome, charming, and she thought that he was faithful and truly loved her but she caught him feverishly kissing one of the queen’s ladies-in-waiting and her heart was broken beyond belief. This betrayal took away her dreams. She vowed to never see him again and she hadn’t until the king stupidly invited him to dinner.

As she was eating silently while the king and queen made conversation with him, he kept looking at her like a piece of meat. Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore and quickly ran out to the garden without excusing herself. With tears in her eyes, she said, “I won’t take this any longer!” Without hesitation, Miranda raised her arms and gracefully levitated off the ground. She didn’t know where she was going or what was going to happen. She just wanted to escape from her hollow and passionless life. Not looking back, she flew up higher and higher into the dark night sky.

What happened to her then? Did she find true love? I wish that I could tell you. No one really knows. Some say that she flew to the heavens and became a guardian angel for the lonely, and others say that she just flew aimlessly around the world, looking and longing for a companion but one thing is for sure, she flew away, far away from the undeniable lies and emptiness forever.

I wrote this story a long time ago but it somewhat fits the song above so I decided to re-edit it and post it. Enjoy!

Dear Frenemies (a poem)

Dear Frenemies,  I finally forgive you,  But you no longer have power over me.  I broke the strings, I unlocked the chains.  Unlike Wendy ...
