October (a poem) 🎃👻

Author Notes:

Hi y'all,

This is a poem celebrating the beginning of October and of course, the Halloween season. I was going to post something on the 1st but things came up. Anyway, enjoy the poem and get into the spooky spirit! 🎃👻

October

October:
when the leaves beautifully change color and the days get incredibly cooler.
It's the time of pumpkin spice, apple picking, and hiding behind masks.
Was that just a shadow of an owl playing tricks on you
or a witch cackling,
as she flies across the moon?
Did you just hear the wind
or a congregation of lonesome but mischievous spirits moaning,
singing their ghostly tune?

October is the time of tricks and treats;
Time of beauty, eeriness, and mysteries.
Are you ready?
Do you dare to come out and play?
